Show exact cut without cutting

Hello,

I want to know if it’s possible to show the exact position of each element before the cut starts.
Why i want that, is because i want to first paint the MDF and after that cut, as it’s easier to do it like this, for me.
So i know you can select “Frame” but that give you like the big picture, i would like to see exactly where each piece is, as they will be of different colors.
Is that possible? Or maybe it will be implemented in the future?

Kind regards,
Bogdan

The simple answer is set the Laser power in the Cuts / Layers window to maybe 5% and run it. What runs is what is selected in the Lightburn workspace.

Thank you for your answer.
Was thinking about that. And i assume i will need to also increase the speed so i don’t have to wait a long time.
Ok, that makes it clear, again thank you for answering.

Yes, but remember what I said was for tracing, not burning or cutting. Speed and power will have to be figured out based on your material.

Yeah yeah yeah. I already used it for cutting, as i said, i feel it’s easier to paint like 2cm wider directly on the MDF and then cut, then cut all the pieces, then paint them.
For cutting i already have it all setup. Will at 5% leave any mark, if i set the focal point to the surface of the board? I mean i don’t need it too, but just to be sure. I was thinking maybe speed of 3000mm/m

Probably not if you have a diode laser.

Wondering why you are doing this. Is there some advantage over just cutting the MGF plain?
