We make a lot of files during holiday season and many of them use custom names. Sometimes we get orders with the same name in a custom file. We build everything in Illustrator and import vector art (all fonts are converted to outlines before pasting into LB. We’re Mac based.
My question is related to the “Show Notes” option under the File pulldown. Is this searchable from the Mac desktop? For example, if I want to find a LB file that has a custom graphic with the name “Sully”, my thought is to put that in the notes, assuming I can search for it from the Mac desktop.
I’m trying to get away from long filenames with every name used for a custom order and it would reduce my copy/paste work from AI. If there is a better way to do this, I’m all ears.
Thanks all.
PS- the QuickLook option for LB files would be awesome so I don’t have to open a bunch of files for a quick preview.
If I search through my lightburn files, it shows up… a little hard to read, but it tells you which file it came from. Don’t know if this is what you want, but I don’t know of any way to read the data in a .lbrn2 file from any thing other than a text search.
I haven’t had a chance to test on my laptop yet, but did you try a search from the Mac finder? I think it will search through the files themselves once it’s indexed, but I wasn’t sure about the LB files. Thanks for giving it a look
