Shutting down in the middle of a burn

EVERYTIME I START TO DO A CUP ON THE FIRST TRY , THE MACHINE STOPS ABOUT A QUATER WAY INTO THE ENGRAVING. AFTER THAT IS DOES FINE. I HAVE PUT EXTRA FERRITE RINGS ON CORDS , UPGRADED THE USB ,SURGE ARRESTOR, EXTRA GROUNDING ON THE MACHINE, AND CHANGE THE LAPTOP SETTING SO IT DOES NOT TIME OUT. I DO GET THE MESSAGE THE SAYS ERROR 8, GRBL $ COMMAND CANNOT BE USED UNLESS GRBL IS IDLE. ENSURES SMOOTH OPERATION DURING JOB. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? ANYONE CAN HELP i WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

I learned the hard way you cannot mess with Lightburn much while it is streaming a program to the controller. The message is saying you tried to tell GRBL to do something (entered something in the Console window?) while it was running a program.

How do you make it do fine after it stops?
