I’ve burned through multiple tumblers. I go this to work at the bottom of my tumbler with company logo (i get to steel silver, definitely got through the powder coating), but the middle of the tumbler is giving me fits of rage at this point. I’ve gotten a few settings to work either at the start of my image or the end, but not from one side to the other. For testing purposes I have a straight line about 40mm x 4mm In reverse rotor I get black on the right side of the line, but as it gets to the left side it looks flawless silver. I’m using 2 passes currently:
Pass # 1: 750 mm/s 25% power .025 mm interval 60 kHz
Pass #2: 1000 mm/s 50% power .035 mm interval 45 kHz
The bottom of the tumbler is further away from the laser, so it’s more out of focus. I believe I have the basic concepts mostly figured out, but the middle of the tumbler has me stumped. Any recommendations for settings? Should I simply manually adjust the focus so the last is 2mm higher when doing this part of the tumbler?
Thanks in advance for the wisdom.
