Hello,
I own a xtool S1 since beginning of this year and I’m using lightburn since then on my MacBook with 13 inch screen. Unfortunately half of the screen is taken by the Laser window when activated. All other tool windows can be reduced to app. 1/3 of the screen width, but not the laser window. As a consequence only half of the screen is available for the contruction window. I already tried another language (usually I use German) with no impact. I would like to share a screen shot but I don’t know how to upload it.
If you press F12 you can hide the side windows and bring them back when needed.
Why didn’t you tell me this 2 years ago? That is so handy!
Hi Tim,
thank you for this tipp. I‘ll try it out tomorrow.
Nevertheless I‘m asking myself, why some screenshots in the forum show the laser window taking only the space as all the other tool windows. Maybe somebody knows …
This is how it appears on my Macbook Pro. This is the narrowest it will go. It has to do with screen resolution. Lightburn works really well at 1920x1080, not so much at the lower resolution of Macbooks.
I also have a Macbook Pro, but it looks different. Maybe I will manage to upload a screenshot tomorrow. Regarding screen resolution the MacBook has a much higher resolution. If the size of a window depends on a minimum number of pixel then the laser windows should be even smaller.
As written before I will check it tomorrow. Thank you for the comments so far.
Not my Nov 2023 14". Here are my available resolutions, none of which are anything close to 1920x1080. I tried running it at max resolution of 1800x1169, but everything was too small for these old eyes, so I stick with 1512x982. In my previous screenshot you will notice that I have all my side panels on 1 layer, rather than double stacked like the default due to available resolution.
Hi Tim,
thank you again for your tipps. Some more information while I’m waiting for the flight gate to open.
- F12 to reduce the tool windows works perfect. That is the function I desperately looked for
- The resolution of my MacBook 13" M1 is 2560x1600. I’m wondering why yours being much younger only has 1800x1169
- I found out how to upload a screenshot (see below); as you can see for whateven reason I’m still not able to minimize the size of the laser windows to the size of all other tool windows. I’m really wondering why it works on your MacBook.
Interesting, i wonder if the window is that size because you have an xTool, I don’t. I have Lightburn running on 3 different computers, this Macbook, a Mini and a Windows 10 laptop and I can make the laser window much narrower than yours on all of them.
What happens if you dock the laser window with the other side windows. This may help.
No, unfortunately it will not help. Instead the other tool windows will enlarge to the same size as the laser window . I also tried to make the laser window taller (in height) to have more space for all buttons in it to then have the chance no narrow it - without success.
Maybe it‘s related to the LB version: I‘m running the latest one 1.7.07.
I took your idea that the problem might be linked to the laser model and created a new device (no machine). I took this one because the entries in the laser window are really the minimum. Unfiortunately again no impact on the behaviour of this specific window. Then I change the language from German to English (not sure if I already did this) and again no impact. The laser window still can’t be reduced to less then half of the screen width.
I don’t have any further idea what to do. Does anybody know how to contact the developer(s)?
