I have been using a previous version of Lightburn since 2023 with an Xtool D1 Pro laser. That version ran on an old Windows/7 laptop which has now been replaced with a Windows/11 laptop running the latest version of Lightburn.
Previously, when framing a design, the laser head ran clockwise from the origin at top left and at a constant speed. With the setup I now have, the laser head runs anti-clockwise with the first movement, top left to bottom left at a very slow speed, with the other three sides traversed much quicker. In addition, as well as describing the rectangle, the framing now includes additional top-left to bottom- left and bottom left to top left passes. Both these are at normal speed.
When configuring the new release for the Xtool, I tried using the downloadable Xtool profile file but, whilst this performs the framing correctly, the cut phase only makes one pass (on a layer set to 3 passes) which is so violent it it shakes the table on which the laser is mounted. It also does not cut. Setting up the Xtool manually performs the cutting correctly but the framing is as described above. The “move” tab seems to provide no facility to increase the frame speed.
I have never updated the firmware on the laser cutter and wonder if this is the problem, or is the manual set-up of the laser cutter at fault?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
