Small Exhaust Motor for my xTool Laser

Everybody here is just a quick question asking all what do ya’ll use to vent your wood cutting fumes out with? I have an xTool D1 Pro with the xTool enclosure that came with it. There is a very small motor that came with this enclosure mounted on the side. It has a 3 inch factory flex tube coming out of it. Right now at the end of this flex tube, I have a “loud” shop vac hooked to the end for better fume suction. I would like to get rid of this loud shop vac and replace it with some type of quieter 120v small motor about the size of a coffee can. There is probably a lot of post on this in here somewhere, but maybe someone could share on what motor they use and where they got it.
Thanks so much,
Tim

I’m using an AC infinity series in-line fan for my fiber. It’s in the photo and circled in red.

I’d suggest, unless you’re an hydrologist type engineer, not to use multiple fans in your system. You might think it’s better with multiple fans, but the more aggressive fan will be drug down by the other fans and there is a loss of ventilation, overall. In the right condition this works and is used in industry, but it’s all computed values and distances based on what gas they are trying to move.

A prop plane feathers a dead engine or the spinning blade make a large area of wind resistance… The same technique is why a helicopter can fly and with an engine failure can auto gyrate and allow a safe landing.

Good luck

My 10w laser has a 12vdc 3" inline variable speed (which I rarely vary) with flex duct. I opted for a 120v 4" inline fixed speed for the 40w/20w machine. Both seem to work pretty good.

Look for the maximum CFM in the duct size you plan on using.
