It’s four acrylic layers atop cork:
The top layer provides a smooth surface for the mug, the bottom layer is a mirror doubling the glitter, and the middle two layers surround the glass pieces. I used a chipboard template to check the fit before cutting the acrylic:
Epoxy tinted with “transparent black” holds the mess together:
I gave a couple to our neighbor as mementos; I think they’re better than the badly thrashed bush out front …
