Hi, I recently got my 40W laser module, and I could not configure it with Lightburn.
Please help
Could not configure the module or could not configure the machine?
The module. I used lightburn before with the 1.6W module and it was fine. Now same setting not working.
Not entirely. Did you upgrade the power supply too? Is it wired properly? The supply they ship with a 1.6w laser will never power even a 10w laser.
Fill us in on the details of the upgrade first.
Hi,
Snapmaker send the 40W module with different cabling connection that will satisfy the power requirements.
I connected it, tested on the Snapmaker application (Luban) and test went well and made a sample laser piece for testing as well.
When tired to use it with Lightburn (Same setting that used to work with the 1.6W module), the laser keeps moving to the bottom left corner and move also to incorrect height outside the work area.
Did you try reloading an earlier version of the lbprefs file? You can find them using File, Open prefs folder.
tried but still stuck
I have no knowledge of this application. For this reason, I am reluctant to suggest changes that will allow Lightburn to control the machine in a predictable manner. I have no idea how this will affect Luban. Maybe someone with knowledge of this software can help you.
Hi All,
OK now I have resolved 50% of the problem, I downloaded the (snapmaker-2.0-40v1.lbdev) file from Using Ray / Artisan / 2.0 with LightBurn | Snapmaker Wiki and imported into Lightburn.
Still only cutting and lines jobs and ok.
But any engraving task is a total failure.
The difference is that for engraving, Lightburn use the relative positioning with code G91, while Luban use absolute positioning withing G90 code.
I tired choosing absolute potion in Lightburn, but still issue the code relative using G91
