Hi, i have been having some issues with my snapmaker laser the past two days and i decided to update the firmware to the latest version available as it was supposed to be fixing my current issue. After updating i can not get it to connect with lightburn. I there a new profile which i haven’t found that can fix it?
Possibly, if your current LightBurn device profile is based on the ‘SnapMaker (Marlin)’ or plain ‘Marlin’ device type you may need to set up a new ‘GRBL’ device, or download and use the one recommended in their guide here:
Using Ray/Artisan/2.0 with LightBurn | Snapmaker Wiki
Thanks! I got it to work with the recommended profile from the one you suggested. Now I have a new minor problem with Lightburn that I could go along with it but I would really like to fix it if possible. In absolute coordinates, When ever I run a frame test, and I was to eight run a second test or proceed with the design the actual laser assume that it has returned to the home position ( but it did not, it stayed at the framing last position) and it tries to go to the desire location to perform the job and hits the boundaries. So to overcome this I could ever time hit the home button and then run whatever i am intending to do. But honestly if there is a fix I would really appreciate it!!
It sounds like you are saying that after you frame a job you have to then home the machine so that the job will start in the correct place?
Are you framing using the button in LightBurn or from the Snapmaker app?
Yes that’s was I meant. I use the Lightburn app to give the order!
