Snapping to grid doesn't work

Hi, so I scour the forum and lots of people seems to have the same kind of issue, but didn’t really find anything that works for me.

The behaviour I’m expecting for snap to grid is as in this video, showed in first two mintues :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M688d7eo-o

I’ve got the same settings in mm/min:
Snap to object : off
Snap to grid : On
Visual Grid : 10
Grid snap distance : 10
Click-selection toleranche : 3 (tried with other doesn’t seem to change anything)
Object snap : 10

Trying to draw a line and make it snap to corners of the grid, like it does in the video, but wherever I click is wherever the point of the line is. No matter if I hold ctrl, or alt, doesn’t snap to the grid…

Version of lightburn is 1.4.04

Have you tried without holding down anything? CTRL will in fact disable snapping.

If so, then can you take a video of what you’re doing with either onscreen keyboard/mouse indicators or with commentary on what you’re doing?

Hi, so, I’ve prepared for recording the issue, I relaunched lightburn, and it worked now…

I’ve tried troubleshooting it for at least two hours before posting, also restarting lightburn, I don’t know why it just works now. Tried to recreate the issue as I did draw some shapes before starting to snap to the grid and other stuff, but it just works now no matter what I do ^^ So I guess, there’s no problem anymore. Weird.

I do have to hold ctrl for it to snap though.

Thanks for the quick reply

IIRC, when either of the two Edit → Settings → Snap to Grid / Object switches are off, then holding Ctrl enables their snapping behavior, but it’s been a while since I fiddled with those settings.

That would be clever, just negating the current setting no matter in which direction.

A casual search suggests the doc has nothing to say on the matter, so it’s UI discovery as an experimental science.

They’re called easter eggs…
