So Hard .... WHY?

Why is it so hard to renew my license? Got thru this every year. License portal is of no use to renew, or deactivate. Cant it be made simple? Off I go onceagain hunting for the webpage where I can renew mt license.

Maybe this helps?

I have done it in the last many years this way,
I go to “https://lightburnsoftware.com” press Renew License - not more or less.

The rest goes fully automatically.
Bigestest problem (for me) is to remember the expiry date

…you are fast

OK spending my time doing this BS instead of producing things using the software.
Happens every year at expiration time.
Im old and cant remember the key numbers for each computer after a year.
Yes I could wright them down somewhere along with the hundred other codes and passwords I need to know but after a year … where is that note?

I have 3 Mac Mini computers and one PC laptop running Lightburn.
I sold a PC with lightburn installed and I need to deactivate it.
I have 2 license’s.
I show 6 activation’s in the License portal but can not understand how to deactivate one even if I knew which one it was. Would a Click on this button be a lot easier to perform functions like that?

Where in the lightburn program can I find the License key number so I will know which numbers to keep active and which 2 to deactivate?
Or do I need to deactivate all my computers … deactivate the ones left (if I can figure out how) and then reactivate the 4 computers I use Lightburn on?

Pretty sure this is not conducive to anything positive. After all, we are all giving time away to help out too.

I am uncertain if in Lightburn there is access to the license in a readable way.
Help menu → License Management does not show it.

However, I would imagine - as you actually need the license number to renew - it should be on your emails.
If not, best to just email support@lightburnsoftware.com and lay out what you need done. Pretty sure they can find all licenses connected to your email and nuke them all. then you can reactivate only your work machines.

also, goes without saying you dont NEED to renew unless you want to update.

I’ve got both of your licenses open on my desktop.

We can address this right now.

Does the computer you want have a name?

You’re in there doing stuff… I see that you’ve taken half the computers out. I’ll wait till you’re done.

One suggestion, if this is a burden to do yearly, perhaps get 2-3 years worth of renewals at one time. Note that this will also allow you to get the free bonus months of support.

Yeah … I deactivated all the computers and am now in the process of activating the ones I am using now. My HP Laptop has been running lightburn for some time now. I deactivated it but when I start the software and go to activate it it wont let me because it says I have 30 days left on the trial … strange … I guess I will need to wait till the trial expires to activate it with my key.

That is a great idea! thanks.
I am not trashing the software … it is great and the programers are doing a really good job on it. I just wish they would invest some time into the license portal and make it easier to understand and use. I love the software!

OK All done … only took about an hour this them around.

To help, we are currently working to provide an ‘In-app’ renewal process targeted for the 1.5.00 release. This should ease the process and make it more convenient. This release is currently going through internal beta, moving toward the public release of this beta. We will announce once available here, in the Public Beta section of the forum.

Great!

What about, after 12 months (so at 1st renewal ONLY so people dont get confused) a “auto renew” option as a subscription?

Thank you, Gil, but unlikely. We currently do not keep payment info or have any way to do this with our current purchase system, and we explicitly state the LightBurn license is not a subscription. This would be a substantial change in our business model.
