Help, I have had my laser since last August and have mastered many things in that time frame. All of a sudden I have issues with connecting laser to my computer. Attached is photos of the reading that I am getting in Lightburn and windows puts up thing saying that device is not working (laser). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Electronics is not my strong suite.

Port failed to open - already in use?
Open the Laser window - It might already be open on start up.
Open the Console window too - It could already be open as well - and it’ll be helpful after this first step.
Click on the bottom (middle) button in the Laser window where it says Auto or COM3 (or something like that) and select a different COM port. Wait a few seconds - you should see a message from the engraver. If you don’t see a message from the engraver - you’ll see what you’ve posted. Try another COM port.
If you plug in a USB drive or another device the COM port numbers can change.
Another thing that fouls people up (myself included) is having LightBurn already running and then starting a brand new fresh LightBurn on top of it. If the first LightBurn is running it will hang onto the COM port and not allow the second one to talk to it. If you’ve got something in the background that latched onto the engraver you may need to restart your Win 10 computer.
! was able to get it working again but not 100% which one of the above items worked but I did do them all. I am going to keep this as it is a good reminder if problem occurs again.
