Hello there,
after updating computer to W11 lightburn won’t “talk” to laser anymore. Error says “There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused”. Don’t ask me about W11 update, I’m trying to solve this problem for my father.
Any Ideas how to fix this?
Your profile lists “IDK” as the laser type. What kind of laser is it? Most likely it needs drivers installed, and the Win11 update nuked them, OR he simply needs to choose the COM port that the laser is plugged in to.
I think it’s K40 with mini gerbil controller. I may be wrong though.
Tried to reinstall Lightburn, tried to change COM ports, still nothing, same error.
Confirm that the port is visible in Device Manager and check the port number there.
Ensure that the port number identified there is the same one used in LightBurn.
Take screenshots of Device Manager and LightBurn if that doesn’t work. LightBurn screenshot should include full screenshot with Laser window in view and a separate screenshot for Edit->Device Settings.
