Software Stops Communicating with Laser while using Rotary (Galvos)

This topic has been discussed and at least one user has had success with the Pre Release for solving this issue (or it hasn’t occured for them yet) It did not solve the problem for me, as I encountered it with the Pre Release.

I am using a Cloudray EC 30 co2 Galvo, not sure of the chip used.

While engraving using the rotary, I will often hit “Pause”, “Stop”, and then “Go to zero”, if I want to change a setting to get a more desirable outcome or if I notice something off, make my change and start again.

More often then it should (which should be never) any buttons that directly control the laser, ie. Jog, start, stop, pause, go to zero, show center, don’t work. I can exit the rotary window no issue.
I can then design, edit and use the UI as nothing is wrong, until I try and start engraving again. Now the main laser window control functions do not respond, ie. frame, pause, stop, start.

The status of the laser is “framing” which it is not, I have to exit out of lightburn for it to reconnect. This is frustrating as I lose zero and have to spend a lot of time TRYING to re-zero, not always successfull.

I have been able to gag the rotary up once in a while, but never remembered exactly what I did. Nothing I can fix, but I’d be happy to try your exact sequence and confirm if it is software or just your particular setup. This was your quote from the other post:

This post you describe it slightly different.

Question: Is that your actual sequence above,
Hit Pause-OK
Hit Stop-OK
Return to zero- Machine freezes
Red light framing resumes/ continues- Or is it just indicating framing in the rotary window?

Between “Pause” and “Stop” did you put in “Resume” or did you (try to) close the rotary window while paused with the X in the top right corner?
Are you using controls in the rotary window or the main interface to pause and stop?

Like I said this is nothing I can fix for you, but can confirm your specific sequence is the issue or not for a bug report.
