Software wont jog my laser

LightBurn is irrelevant to what you’re facing. This is strictly an issue on the xTool.

You would use the firmware upgrade tool with a specific firmware version.

This page has a link to an older firmware (V40.31.003.01B4) if you want to attempt that:
How to Upgrade xTool D1 Pro Firmware? – xTool

What issue exactly are you having with the firmware upgrade? Can you attach a screenshot?

This is very rarely a productive approach.

Your xTool engraver is in a strange state. A firmware failure can do this.
Some folks have experienced a need to keep repeating/hammering the firmware upgrade 4 or 5 times to get it to take.

If you’re seeing this in the Console window in LightBurn it’s the STM32 chip in the xTool repeating it’s broken start sequence. If you can break firmware you’ve successfully completed 90% of the reflash - You’re actually much closer to the goal than you think you are. Yes it’s frustrating, new, and probably not as rewarding as artwork but it is a handy skill to learn. xTool has written and re-written the firmware several times to offer the best possible experience that they can for you.

You’ll get it.

give me a minute to do that and i will

A random note that might help if you have one available. If you’re trying the USB method of updating firmware, try another cable. I’ve had issues flashing firmware to my phone before, half taking, cutting out midway, and it turned out to be just a crap cable. The XTool takes a standard USB-B, the same one printers use.

Err: Flash bin path is error.
Err:
WRITE → FAIL

This is saying that it can’t locate the firmware file. Have you downloaded the file and are you selecting the file?

Can you take a screenshot showing the full log?

i dont think it is the cable since it would run a program just wouldn’t jog the module.

It will run a program fine, but won’t jog? That… kinda doesn’t make sense. In the console window, try typing $H (note the capital H), followed by G0 X100. Afterwards, try the jog buttons again.

EDIT: Also could you post a screenshot of your device settings for the XTool.

I too have this issue with my D1 Pro 20 watt. Thanks for the tips I cant wait to try and report back.

I’d highly encourage you to first try the fix listed in post 12.

Send the two lines separately. $H should make it home, then G0 X100 will jog to X100.

fix listed in post 12? im not that educated with these forums. may i ask for a repost please?

didnt move.

Check Move window settings.

What is your distance setting and speed setting? If they are unusually low then jogging may not appear to be working.

Can you take a screenshot?

It looks like you issued a ‘Go’ instead of a ‘G0’. It should be letter-G and numeric-0.
