SOLVED! xTool F1 Portable WiFi Connection Issues and Login Prompts

SOLVED!!! I just solved this by editing the LBDEV file I downloaded from Xtool’s website for LightBurn. I simply replaced the IP address in the LBDEV file with the IP address of my machine and BAM! It worked. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to connect my xTool F1 Portable to LightBurn (free trial version) via WiFi, but I’m running into some frustrating issues. Here’s what’s happening:

  1. I imported the .lbdev file provided by xTool for the F1 setup, but it didn’t allow me to edit the connection type or network settings—it seems locked for USB.
  2. I then tried manually creating a device profile using Ethernet/TCP with the correct IP address for the F1, but when I attempt to connect, the console shows:

Waiting for connection…
makeblock login: M116
Password:
M116
M2002
M100
Homing
M28
Login Incorrect

  • There’s no option to input a password anywhere, and it just shows “login incorrect” after trying to send commands.
  • My xTool F1 Portable doesn’t have a console or screen (like the Ultra version), so I can’t input or adjust any settings directly on the machine.
  • The Devices menu in LightBurn also doesn’t offer any way to edit the connection type or bypass this login issue after importing the .lbdev file.
  • I’ve confirmed the F1 is connected to the same WiFi network as my computer.

I’m using LightBurn 1.7.04 (free trial), and my xTool F1 firmware is up to date.

Has anyone successfully connected the xTool F1 Portable to LightBurn via WiFi? Is this a known limitation of the F1, or is there a workaround I’m missing?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m pretty certain that Lightburn simply doesn’t support xtool’s network connections. You have to use USB with Lightburn.
