Spanish accents in variable text

With the word “Español”. in a csv file works perfect in the Mac version of lightburn
in the windows version the same csv file shows the image uploaded with the accented A
lightburn version 1.3.01 on a windows 10 machine

I can recreate this issue.

In fact, it seems all unicode characters beyond 127 ascii printable are broken. Even Euro mark doesn’t work.

Is the CSV file saved with the correct Unicode header, or is it just saved as ASCII?

Just retested.

  1. File created in Windows Notepad and saved to UTF-8 does not work correctly
  2. File created in Windows Notepad and saved to UTF-8 BOM works correctly

So is BOM required? My understanding is that BOM was optional and not recommended for UTF-8.

Just created the text file in excel and saved as a .csv and lightburn windows works fine
file created in Notepad and saved as a .csv has the problem.
