I have setting in my Lightburn software for Power and Speed but when I go to engrave/cut… the machine overrides the settings rather than using what I put into the software. This was not an issue until I switched to a new computer… Please help I am so aggrevated!!!
Can you provide screenshots and photos showing this? I’ve never heard of this happening.
Carefully review that the units that you’re specifying in software is the same units that you’re comparing when you say the machine is overriding the settings.
Is it possible that the new computer is set to a different set of units than you’re accustomed to?
I have my speed at 20 and my power at 65… however in my OMTECH laser machine (80 watt) the speed and the power says 30 MM/S AND 60% - IT AS IF THE MACHINE IS CONTROLLING THOSE SETTINGS RATHER THAN THE SOFTWARE. The new computer is just a new PC nothing different than what I had on it before… I really appreciate your help.
I can’t see the units in the screenshot. Can you show the entirety of the window?
Does this change at all if you change settings on the LightBurn side? Or it remains at these settings irrespective of what you set in LightBurn?
Can you separately save the design as an RD file and upload here? I’ll run and see what my panel shows. You may need to add .txt extension to the file to be able to upload here.
I just ran the program again… the controller shows 30 mm/s while running - but it seems to be moving quite a bit faster… I am trying to cut through a thin piece of wood, less than 1/8" - I have ran this file about 6 or 8 times and it still hasn’t cut through.

It seems to me that you’re running in inches/s. I just ran the file and it’s showing me 508 mm/s. This would correlate perfectly to 20 inches/s.
Go to Edit->Settings and change your units to mm/s.
