When using Lightburn with my Gweike Cloud 50watt laser I have been unable to get it to move faster than 100mm/s when filling and 200mm/s when cutting. Any values higher than these simply cause the laser to never start the job; the machine turns on, the fan activates, etc, but the laser head never starts moving. Gweike states the laser can move up to 600mm/s, so I’d like to know what I need to do to get it moving at higher speeds.
Make sure the speed units are set to mm/s
rather than mm/min
or inch/min
.
Having the machine not move at all seems odd, but stranger things have happened with other controllers.
If that’s not it, uploading an offending lbrn2
file will let the hive mind see more details. We’ll also need screenshots of the Machine Settings
showing the maximum speeds for both axes.
That may be slightly, shall we say, overstated; some sellers claim the speed along a diagonal with both axes moving at 1/√2
that speed. If so for your machine, the axis speeds will be capped around 400 mm/s.
Most controllers have a set speed range to ensure you don’t try to run it too fast…
I think @ednisley likely correct and it’s a unit issue.
