Is a spellcheck provided anywhere in LB when using the TEXT tool?
TIA,
Roger
None that I know of.
While there is no bult-in spell checking ability you can come up with your own solution for this.
Opening up the “Edit Text Shape” dialogue will open a standard text edit window. By installing an external spell checking utility like tinySpell, misspelled words will be pronpted as you type.
I cannot vouch for tinySpell and am not affiliated with it in any way but it does what it claims to do in basic. There may be better alternatives so I’d encourage exploring options.

“Pronpted” I see what you did there.
What is purpose of edit text shape?
My understanding of it is to provide a more natural text input screen rather than direct in-place text entry.
This allows access to full range of keyboard shortcuts, accommodates languages that require more elaborate text input than English, allows you to move the cursor to any point in the text, etc. Basically, it addresses many of the shortcomings of the in-place entry.
Thank you for the tip.
Not a programmer but I would think spellcheck could be added to Lightburn fairly easy.
Lesson 1 - Add Spell Checking to Your Application | WinForms Controls | DevExpress Documentation
Spellchecking has been discussed before. From my understanding there are technical, practical, and prioritization reasons it hasn’t been addressed, not that it couldn’t be.
I personally don’t see a reason for it since I spell purrfectly.
Just wondering because “edit text shape” seems to be a text box that spellcheck could be easily added to. But if we all could spell as purrfectly as you we wouldn’t even need it.
That’s why I’m starting the Good Spelers Club. All are welcome to join.
This would be the obvious place to add it. From what I understand they’re using a standard QT text widget for that so may depend on support from the toolkit to support but I’m not specifically familiar.
Kount me in… spelling and gramer are very impotent to me.

And spell check on everything else doesn’t help. If you don’t get the squiggly line underneath you think all is good.
Agreed. It provides a false sense of security.
Unfortunately the link you provided is for applications written for Windows only, using the Dot Net framework, neither of which is true of LightBurn.
