I am using a new m4 imac with the newest version of Lightburn. When I choose the preview to see the engraving, I get the spinning wheel that lasts for like 10 secs. With a brand new m4 imac, is something wrong with a setting? Thanks,
If you are using offset fill, change to plain fill. Offset fill is very computationally heavy and only for specific uses.
I have the layer set to Fill, not offset fill. Anything else that could be taxing the m4 like that? Many have been raving about how great the m4 chip is so I wouldn’t expect and spinning wheel at all in Lightburn. Thanks.
I run lightburn on an old PC laptop. That M4 is a beast comparatively . Shouldn’t be maxxed out by Lightburn I’d think.
I have a few second delay on my M1 Mini, and significantly less on my M3 macbook. I run most of my files off of a network drive though. Not sure if that matters once it’s loaded though. The same file works well on your PC? Upload it and I’ll see how it performs on my machines and if I see any issues.
The delay is about 4-5 secs on my m4, just checked it yesterday. I don’t see to ever get any kind of delay on my pc when previewing a cut.
I just did a test using the same file on my M1 and a Win 10 PC. I got the same results as you. Almost instant preview on PC, 4-5 second delay on Mac. I did not test it on my M3 Macbook as it’s in the house and I’m in the shop.
I don’t have an explanation, but can validate your observations.
Perhaps someone else has an explanation for this.
