Stained Glass effect Laser cut

Here’s my latest laser project. Inspiration from Dusty Workbench Art on YouTube.

I used a recent photo of a turtle I took in Maui, sent it though an AI art generator to get a stained glass effect. Then did a fair amount of work in Photoshop to clean it up. Ran the result through Lightburn’s Image Trace to get the file ready to use. I Dye Sublimated the image onto 4mm Okoume plywood, then used the Print & Cut feature to cut it out. I then mounted the results onto another piece of ply, painted black & scored with the image to help with alignment. I may end up giving it a coat of Resin to embed and strengthen the smaller pieces. It’s given me some ideas of other project I want to try. Enjoy!

wow THAT IS AWESOME I’m still trying to figure out the basics.

Very impressive ! I’d be tempted to try another without the reflection, looks nice but hard to tell what it even is without reference to the original pic.

Great work!

Wow, @Grandpa_Laser, the turtle was an excellent choice of image for this effect. I love this, and thank you for sharing it with us.

Here’s a couple more. These are smaller, at around 10” wide each.
