since a few days I´ve got problems with the “Start” and “Stop” button. It only works exactly one time. When the job is finished I cannot use it a second time. Then I just can restart my computer (restart lightburn and/or reconnecting usb not working) or use the “Start here” button in Preview-Mode.
In Lightburn, with the laser off, create a box any size, like 50mm x 50mm, and select it. Set the power to 5% and the speed to 1000mm/min.
Open the Console window and click the Show all button.
Power up the laser and Home or set the Origin like you normally would.
Click the Run button.
When it finishes, click the Run button again.
You will be able to scroll up nd down to see everything the controller and Lightburn said to each other.
Now copy the everything in the Console window and paste it here.
Are you trying to Stop and Start in the Laser window with the Preview window open? If you use the Start Here in Preview, the window will keep focus until you close it…
If this is not what you are doing, please describe what you do step-by-step until it hangs.
No thats not what I am doing. That clear, that this is not working
It just stopped working to click Start from beginning. If I start Lightburn (closed before), do the steps you mentioned before, I cant start the job. There is also no Log entry when pressing “Start”.
I´m not doing anything special. Like I said in my first post, its very strange that it works again one time, when I restart my computer (laser on/off, usb in/out, lightburn close/open, etc. does not work).
Also reinstalling Lightburn with drivers not working (saw that in another thread).
The info reported back by your controller is not very helpful. Does the project complete when it does run? Is this limited to one project or all projects?
Have you tried other software, like LaserGRBL? I am wondering if you can do a restart in that package.
To be honest, it sounds like the controller is not sending the completion information to Lightburn. I have read some postings where the controller firmware gets corrupted.
Dont think its the controller not sending because today it happened that it also not worked the first time (I did a lot of editing paths etc. at first).
I think its the second point, but I really dont know how to figure out whats going wrong here. Maybe I also try to reach out to the product support (laser).
