Hi,
new user here with an iCube. How do I know how to position my piece that I want to engrave correctly? Can I position the laser and turn it on to see where it start and then go on from there? Or how is it done?
Kind regards
Joerg

I first started out using the cover plate. I pushed it all the way back, centered it side to side, and burned a 4.7" square to indicate where to locate items. See image Cover Plate.
For repeatability and accurately positioning small items, I created a holder that fits in the hole in the base (original idea from a fiber laser user). The “socket” for the individual templates is about 4" square. Everything is 3mm (2.8) Baltic Birch plywood. See image Fixture Holder.
This should get you started.
Hi Mike, thank you for your help. Do you then alway “home” to 0.0 and then start the jobs?
Yes. I Home the machine and use Absolute Coordinates. If you do not move the position in the drawing, it will go to the correct start position every time.
