Somehow I have lost the status lines that indicate the size and position of objects on the screen along with the font being used and its size. Can you help me recover those lines? Thanks

Can you check your Window menu and make sure “Numeric Edits” is enabled?
If that doesn’t work then try Windows->Reset to Default Layout. That should start you from ground zero in terms of layout.
