Suggestion/feature request portable install

Hi All,

Having a great time with the new updates and Lightburn is slowly maturing into a versatile machine driver .
Now I have my own license I’m digging much deeper.
My background is cnc mach3 which does drive a laser with lots of hacks that have narrow context.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a portable install as an option when installing .
The reason is that as we are constantly updating (a good thing) it would be nice to specify C:\lightburn1501 or Lightburn1502 etc . I do this anyway by moving everything and giving myself full privileges on the directory .

We all know and accept that things are moving ,all in the right direction .
Im hoping that she will evolve to a full cnc machine in time .
I have added a lightweight z axis to my home made 500x500 and it works well as long as the feeds ans speeds are spot on ,otherwise the slightly sloppy z axis moves too much ,but all can be fixed with a better gantry. A laser is fast and light , a cnc machine is heavier and slow . There is a middle ground im finding .

Please keep up the good work .

Thanks but that does not work for me …its a different place entirely I am here already .
Now there is a feature request “make the feature request simple” like this is .

When parallel installations work fine for you I don’t see what needs to be changed.
You install the version that you think works optimally for you and use it as the “stable standard version”. You test all new versions and use them as you wish.
Since your settings and preferences are saved separately, I always install the latest (beta) version. I use LB on a daily basis for small production and have not yet experienced that I cannot re-establish the last working version, it doesn’t take 2 minutes here.
It is possible to install multiple versions but I think it will cause more work and confusion than benefits.
