Suggestion on air cooled 5W JPT UV machine

Hello,
I recently purchased a 100W JPT MOPA machine for engraving coins and marking jewelry and would now like to add a UV machine for engraving glass. I am able to do glass on my CO2 machine but the marks aren’t pretty and it’s also slow.
Can anyone suggest of a reliable brand that is fairly priced? I don’t mind ordering from overseas, but US would be nice.

You do know UV light passes thru glass, right? That said, you mark glass with a diode laser by putting some sort of light absorbing coating on one side of the glass.

Atomstack, Ortur, and Sculpfun, to name a few, all make good machines. You might want to consider a 10w machine. I went from 5w to 10w and won’t be going back.

I believe UV lasers can engrave glass very well, not that I have got one.

That was not a diode laser. It was like a Monport or Raycus unit.

I assumed the OP was looking for UV Fiber. 100W JPT MOPA + CO2 already in his stable and leaning domestic…that’s a budget that precludes baby diode nonsense.

Yes correct, UV fiber/galvo.

Go easy now! I am a member of the Baby Diode Nonsense Club.

I am having trouble reconciling UV with fiber laser…
“Typically, fiber lasers produce wavelengths between 780 nm and 2200 nm , which is located in the infrared spectrum.”
Diodes labeled “UV” operate in the 450nm region, which is a much shorter wavelength bordering on visible light.

Me too! Baby budget. Baby machine

350nm

Yeah, that qualifies as UV. That is in the glass is opaque zone.

It was Galvo I was trying to land on, Fiber was a boo-boo. I don’t have any of those $$$$ machines, so they are all the same to me (never gonna’ happen).
