SVG file doesn't appear

I sent myself a jpeg, a screenshot of a graphic I saw. Sent it to Convertio where I converted it to an SVG file as I’ve been doing for a couple of years. Importing it into LB (2.1.03) it doesn’t show up. The grid is blank. See attached pics. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Can you post your SVG file for investigation?

Hi @Grantman

Converting a JPEG to SVG doesn’t necessarily produce usable vector artwork — it depends on what the converter puts inside the SVG and what was in the original bitmap image. A screenshot of an empty SVG isn’t terribly useful for a diagnostic. A bit like an empty stable with the door open.

Please upload the SVG itself so we can inspect it. You could also import the original JPEG directly into LightBurn, or use Tools → Trace Image if you need vector paths.

Edit: I noticed the “All Supported” files has been truncated to fit the question. Sigh…

I tried to upload the file but a blank spot appears, no file.

I also tried to convert it on my phone but the .svg file is also blank. Seems to be a convertio issue. What other conversion sites might you recommend?

Ahhh…never mind. It was a Convertio issue. I found SVGcreator and got what I needed. All good.

Thanks, Dominic, I found another conversion app and it’s all good. Appreciate the reply nonetheless.

Hi @Grantman

Feel free to post the blank SVG anyway and we can use it as a learning point for the next person.

The svg is only 435 bytes

Yes, I solved the problem with another converter. All good. Don’t know what happened with Convertio. Thanks for replying.

I did. If you go to my original post and hover your mouse over the blank area, you’ll see the file name. Not sure what you can learn from that but go for it! :+1: It’s beyond my knowledge base.
