SVG from WordArt shows up OK in Chrome but wrong in Lightburn

When I download designs from WordArt.com in SVG format they look much different in Lightburn than they do in Chrome. See uploaded SVG – open in Chrome and also import into Lightburn.

You do not open in Word because Word cannot import SVG files natively. You copy/paste it into Word, then get a link to open it in a browser. When it opens in the browser, it flattens the layers (looks like 18 best I can tell) into a single layer.

Unfortunately, there is no way to ungroup the images and separate them in Lightburn. But there is a solution. Open in the browser (or use the displayed image in this Thread) and use the Windows Snippet Tool to capture it as an image. Then it will import into Lightburn as you see it here.

Yes, there’s something about that SVG that LB doesn’t like. I opened it in InkScape then exported as PDF and that has imported into LB ok. I tried exporting as SVG from InkScape but that exhibited the same behaviour as the original.

I’ve attached the PDF in case you want to use it. I’ve had to append ‘.TXT’ to the filename to circumvent the forum restrictions. Just remove the ‘.TXT’ when saving the file.
Hope this helps.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say… there’s a rectangular frame around the entire graphic which gets imported on layer ‘C23’ which you can delete.
