I downloaded the latest update of LB Pro and the new Generate Tangent feature is grayed out. I have tried restarting my computer as the Web Tool wasn’t showing initially. The Web Tool is now showing but I am not able to use the new generate tangent feature. Anyone have any suggestions?
Have you read the instructions on how it works?
You have to select 3 existing circles for it to enable. It generates new circles that touch the 3 existing ones you choose, so it doesn’t enable until it knows which ones to work from.
No but I watched a YouTube video and it looked like you make a few circles, select them all, and then click create tangent. I can’t say that I have ever had to read the manual. ![]()
Thank you for the video. One of my circles wasn’t completely round. I corrected that circle and look what happened. ![]()
You might not need to, but there are often goodies in there that you might not realize exist.
A couple examples:
- pressing F1 (help) while pointing the mouse at something brings up the help specific to that control
- Number boxes like Width, Height, and position let you use units and equations, like 1” + 5mm
- Shift+click on a layer entry will select the contents of that layer
- Ctrl+clicking on the Offset button will repeat the last offset operation on the current selection
All of these are in the docs, and would be hard to discover otherwise.
Common error with this new feature. If it is not round, it is not a circle. It is an oval instead.
