Template to cut out a switch

I am trying to draw a cut out for a switch it has 2 parallel sides 10.5 mm apart and the length is 12.7mm long the internal diameter of the lock nut is 12. 35mm I want to be able to cut this shape out for a control panel. I am not sure how to go about drawing it.

Hi, can you post a picture of an hand drawing?

Parallel sides, internal diameter, lock nut. This confuses me.
It certainly won’t be anything extraordinary, but I can’t quite grasp what’s needed.
A technical drawing or a specific model of the switch would be very helpful, as would the thickness of the panel where it will be installed.

You want to cut a rectangular opening or just a hole for the switch to mount? What kind of switch is it, Toggle, Bat Handle, Round Rocker, Rectangular Rocker, etc?

Neither are we.

Start by drawing a rectangle and circle of the appropriate sizes and center them on each other.

Then select both and open the boolean assistant. Select the appropriate operation, in this case intersection and click OK.

You may need to adjust the sizes to compensate for the kerf of your machine. Only experimentation will tell you that.

The question of thickness was solely relevant if the switch were equipped with “self-locking” tabs, but that’s not the case here.
Tim already represented what I would also do.
The drawing clarifies all my doubts!
