Testing 60w laser tube

Hello,
Very new to lasering. Setting up my new 60 watt machine, but the laser is not turning on, and I get an error when I try to pulse when aligning. Could this be a bad tube? I’m not seeing any visible cracks inside. So I disconnected the red wire from the power supply to see if there’s continuity all the way through the tube, and I’m not getting any connection. Should the red and black wires coming out the end , be connected, and have continuity through the tube when I use my multimeter?
I hope my explanation makes sense.
Thanks

What is the error? Could be a water flow or door alarm. I don’t think there will be continuity through the tube.

It says “Machine Protected Please Esc” It looks like the only door sensor I can find is for the lid, and it looks like it has 3 wires for it, brown, black, and blue. not sure how to test the switch or if it will trigger an led on and off.

This turned out to be the lid switch not being lined up.

On the Ruida, you can physically look at the LEDs on the controller, the WP (water protect) and limit switches are displayed.

To see the status of the other options go to the ‘diagnostic’ after pressing ‘Z/U’ on the controller.

Glad you figured it out…

Assume it’s firing now?

yes, its firing now! thanks for the info, I know see the section of the diagnosis on the ruida.

Just for the sake of safety and good order, you should not test a CO2 laser tube this way, it will not work.
