The burn of an image on a 10cm slate coaster is off center by at leat 3 cm

After importing an image and framing the coaster on my Xtool D1 Pro 20W, the image burns to the left of center. When I press start I am prompted with a caution that “the cut might be out of bounds”, I still say yes to begin. I framed the coaster and it was perfect and yet the burn is off center. I drew a center cross on the coaster and moved the laser over it and fired to its exact center. Why is it doing this???

When you have any kind of indication there is a problem, it’s usually because you really do have something that is not right.

If possible, post your .lbrn2 file, drop it on the reply window or use the upload icon download-icon-background in the toolbar.

Can you also supply a screenshot of ‘Edit → Device Settings’?

Thanks Jack

Im guesing that its to do with the pointer offset . I note its on and the X line is -16mm

Is this a new machine and have you been using it successfully with Lightburn?

Did you set a ‘user origin’?

Most seem to use Absolute coordinates. You can use either with a good understanding of the coordinate system

I also question the offset of a negative number.

I don’t have one of these, so I can only give you areas to check…

I think @berainlb deals with these, maybe he’ll drop in…

Good luck

It is a brand new machine yesterday, I did have it set to “user origin” and as I said, loine it up in the center and it framed perfectly around the coaster.??

Thx for your input.

Are you referencing the crosshair or the primary laser light for the framing? In your case you’d want to use the crosshair.

As per “user origin” if you’re unexperienced with LightBurn and your laser I’d highly suggest you stick to Absolute Coords until you’re very familiar with how your laser functions.

Thank you. I have actually turned off `Pointer Offset in settings and have just burned a coaster using “user Origin” and it seems to of worked. This is only my second day exploring and will need to watch many more tutorials on Lightburn :face_with_spiral_eyes:
