The Holy Trinity of Manufacturing

Mom requested a Cookbook Stand with it being made out of Acrylic…

After some brainstorming concerning the difficulty in heating up an almost 500mm long fold using just a heat Gun I decided to approach it slightly different…

Instead of just attempting in bending a large piece of Acrylic like 3 times…

I went and made the Panels by CO² Laser Cutting the Acrylic, CNC Milling the Wooden Spacer and 3D Printing the Stand…

The Holy Trinity of my current Manufacturing Capabilities

Material used was one of the 3mm Acrylic Panels that came with my G·Weike Cloud, a piece of 18mm thick Wood, ASA Filament, some M3 Brass Heat Set Inserts and a bunch of M3x8mm Countersunk / Button Head Screws.

Three machines involved in your project, I think you had a good time in your workshop and enjoy it, I often do too. And not to forget, when the woman of the house can finally realize how important all our machines are to survival, it is not that difficult to convince her of the need for new tools either.

I don’t think that arguments gonna fly with Mom  But I did indeed have some quality time…

Then heavier weapons are needed. Make a fine plywood box with a picture from the time when everyone was younger and prettier, of your dear wife and you, the dog and the children…, put some nice chocolates in the box and the new fiber laser is ready for ordering.
