I’ve only been using a laser for a short time now, and it’s not working on engraving circles of any size. What could be the problem?

Thar partial image next to the one you centered indicates a Mechanical problem. Loose couplings or pulleys are likely, but it is worth giving the machine a complete checkup. ((% of what is in @misken’s sits applies to all diode lasers.
Rotate the scan direction 90 degrees. Does the flaw follow the scan angle or does it flaw in the same place as before?
