I am trying to use the arrow buttons in the Move panel to jog or shift around my work area. I am getting no response when I click on any of the arrows or use the keyboard keys. I see this has been asked before but i cannot open the responses.
The move panel doesn’t shift around your work area. It’s meant to control the position of the laser head within the area of your machine.
Is this what you’re attempting?
My laser head does not move when I press the arrow buttons in the Move panel. Additionally, when I press the “move here” icon (it does turn red) then click on a location on in the work space the laser head again will not move to the location. it does not respond using the alt or control keys with the corresponding letter.
Does your laser otherwise work? What’s the history of the laser? Is this newly installed or it has been working?
it works just fine. I use it daily. If I setup a form to do some 6 coasters and manually square the frame everything engraves correctly. If I use Absolute Coordinates, it works just fine. I just have no control in the move panel or with the send my laser here button.
And I already reset to defaults from the menu and i tried a reinstall as well. No joy. And thanks for your interest. I appreciate it whether I get a fix or not.
What are you doing when you do this?
Try one thing. Increase the distance in Move window to something like 10mm. Increase speed to 1000 mm/min. Retest. Does that change the behavior?
If not, then please provide the following:
- Go to Console window. Enable “Show all” button. In Move window, push down, up, right, left. Then copy all the Console output into a reply here.
- Take full screenshot of LightBurn with Move and Laser windows in view
- Take a screenshot of Edit->Device Settings
Disable “Enable $J Jogging” in Edit->Device Settings then retest.
If that does not work, disable “Continuous Jog” in Move window. Then retst.
