I’m using Linux Mint 21.2, where I work on some tasks directly in LightBurn and others in Inkscape, where I have better mastery over vector manipulation and tools. When I copy from Inkscape to LightBurn, it works as expected, but when I copy within LightBurn, I can’t paste it into Inkscape or other programs. However, when I copy to another window within LightBurn, everything works correctly.
I initially thought it might be an issue with Inkscape, but even after completely removing it and installing a newer version, the problem persists. I’m currently using version 1.5.04 of LightBurn, and I’m certain I was able to do this when I first purchased my license.
In the settings, the option to copy to the system clipboard is enabled, but upon activating debug logging, I encounter this message: 18:11:48.415 W: QXcbClipboard: Unable to receive an event from the clipboard manager in a reasonable time.
Afterward, I installed CopyQ, which is a clipboard manager that records and displays what was transferred to the clipboard in the form of a history. Through this, I confirmed that the option allowing copying to the system clipboard doesn’t change its state.
Hello, the same thing happens to me in Archlinux and Ubuntu as well. I only come to propose a provisional option until someone from the technical area can respond to you. You export the selected object to SVG and import it from Inkscape.
I know, they are several extra steps and cumbersome, but I warned you, it is provisional, luckily I am managing everything, absolutely everything with LightBurn
Thank you for your attention. I’m already exporting as an alternative, but instead of using LB, I end up doing everything in Inkscape.
Got it. The real purpose of the post was to report the issue because I couldn’t find any posts about it.
Note that this is the same behavior in Windows. Ability to copy from the clipboard is unidirectional. Inkscape->LightBurn works but LightBurn->Inkscape does not.
I have never known this to work even as before 1.0. Do you know specifically when this worked for you?
