Thunder Bolt Passthrough

Hi all! I am in the market to purchase a new laser and have come down to the Thunder machines. My biggest limitation is depth of the bed as I really would like to make taller signs.

I really like the bolt series but it only has a pass through on the front. My question is, is it fairly accurate to cut half of an object rotate the image in lightburn, align with location marks and re-cut second half effectively doubling the cutting capacity? I would prefer to not have to jump up to the nova series to do this.

Thoughts, tips or recommendations welcome.

Thanks!

That would be possible but not very practical as a long term solution in my opinion. You’d have to get everything lined up perfectly on the second cut and if it’s just a little off it would be no bueno.

If you’re wanting to do a lot of stuff larger than the bolt’s 12x20" bed I’d move up to the larger bolts or go with something in the Nova series. Just my opinion.
