Can a feature be implemented in which you essentially get an infinite Y assuming you have a jig for orientation alignment(keeping the workpeice in the exact orientation every time)? You could do so by making the workspace 10mm smaller than the maximum output size of the lens and then moving the wor…

There should be no reason this shouldn’t work. However, the fiber coverage limits what you can do. My work area is 300x300mm using an F420mm lens. If I did that size, I could only get one row because it’s at it’s maximum Y range. The real question is can you register it. If you need perfect re…

Print and cut is what inspired the idea, if the software can trace and cut with a gantry, why couldn’t it trace and add the next tile in the correct area if it’s given a margin to work with? Fiber coverage limits your X but if your Y becomes infinite then all you need is a passthrough in your enclos…

Granted a 4k camera at 220mm focal distance say for a 110mm lens will be 0.039mm per pixel or about 1.5 thou, I’m sure this would be more than close enough for almost anyone not doing 3d work.

I get most of my lenses from Cloudray. An F163mm has a coverage of 112x112mm. There is little room at this height for any kind of manipulation of materials. Another thing to think about is how do you plan on making a jig that is only square to one side. If you need to move it in the X direction,…

I would go about it another way using split marking and a conveyor setup, if I understand your goal correctly. Same limitations apply but everything LB already in place, just have to build the conveyor which probably not too tough.

It’s about making it simple, which is the purpose of lightburn to begin with, not everyone can afford a conveyor but everyone that can afford a fiber laser can afford a camera. Granted the components of a conveyor are simple, it can be daunting for someone to consider this, best case scenario your l…

Other then knowing Mr. Trig, most of what you say is probably correct. I probably misunderstood your goal. I pictured a banner shaped engraving. I don’t believe manually moving the workpiece several times and attempting to align with a camera would produce decent results, and would be really, reall…

Have you seen this? [image] ACCELaser HD1 Series Compatibility Update Announcements In version 2.2, we’ll have full support for ACCELaser’s new flying galvo machines, the HD1 series. The HD1 combines gantry and galvo motion systems into a single machine,…

Yeah I have my issue is that my laser would require mounting the source on the gantry too which would require increased rigidity and extremely effective dust extraction which may block the camera to some degree. The cost would be ineffective I believe.

I’ve been watching Gantry/ galvos for a couple years now, big  money and still doesn’t solve the “Banner” work area. A Texas laser company quoted me over $70K and that had less work area total then my X table and the 175X175 lens in either direction.
