Tilting text along a line

Maybe someone knows a “simple” way to do this.

I want to have a line of text follow a sloped line, but the kicker is I want the letters to stay oriented upright.

Just like this Preview shot:

I did this by separating out each letter and manually moving them. There has to be a simple way to let LB do the work for me?

Not at this time, unfortunately. We do have plans to provide enhancements to the Text tooling, but this ‘treatment’ is a bit more than we had initially considered as an addition. I will share with the team for feedback.

For now, they way you accomplished is the best workaround and how I might do the same.

While mentioning to the team, @JTR suggested that you could use ‘Variable Text’ + ‘Copy Along Path’ to do this — May be faster than the other way.

Not sure if this will work for you, but there’s also the Edit Text Shape.

I did play with the copy along path (great feature BTW!) but got stuck as the object (name of day) kept together. I suppose if I made a CSV of each letter it should work.
John, that is how I got to where I am today, just a letter per line then a lot of spaces added to get the letters to shift over.
