Ok,
our Toocaa L2 machine has been working very smoothly until now. It stopped moving the laser. We have checked the cables and we have manually moved the laser from left to right, from back to top and it does it.
We have tried to change some GRBL values, update firmware, bla-bla and the machine, right now is not working at all.
If we try to move the laser by Lightburn, horizontally seems inverted and vertically does not move at all.
When you click at Home, it goes to back right corner, but goes further than limits. Showing this error:
ALARM:9
Homing fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phases.
I f you try to make a Material test, it hits left border…

The machine does not Home properly. The Xaxis does move when you Jog it, correct?

Trolley and gantry rapid move towards the switches.
When the switches are hit, the machine will stop and reverse. First Zaxis must complete if installed, then X and Y. It may not reverse X or Y until both switches are found for X and Y.
The machine will pull off the switches slowly until the switches open.
The machine will reverse back onto the switches very slowly until the switches close.
The machine will reverse and pull off the switches slowly until they open.
The controller establishes this as the Home position. It is usually shown as something very close to 0,0 as the position if the controller is set for the first quadrant. If it shows large numbers, this can be changed with the G10 command.
There is no other version of theHomecycle. If you have limit switches, this is how it should work.
Is there a limit switch at the back of the machine? Update: Google says it has switches and Homes Back-Left of the machine.
Make sure the connectors for the Xaxis motor is firmly plugged in on both ends.
I do not think you need to do the steps listed. I listened to the video sound several times and it sounds like it just stops without hitting the frame.
It’s not clear, which button was pressed, and what that button is supposed to do.
@Daguilera Did you ever see the X axis (left to right) move at all?
Their official guide for adding the laser seems to be written for the older L1, but you should have received a .LBDEV device profile on the micro SD card. Drag this file into LightBurn to add the laser.
If you have just received this machine, I recommend using the manufacturer’s software first to ensure that everything is working properly.
Hi Aaron, we bought the machine about 15 months ago and used it extensively last November and December for student projects.
At the end of December, it started malfunctioning, and one of the axes won’t move, just like in the video above. I’ve disassembled the machine, checked the electrical connections, cleaned it thoroughly, updated the firmware, and nothing has worked. Today I contacted Toocaa support via email and I am waiting for their response.
