Tool Library Not Available for Assignment to Operations

The Tool Library I created in MM is not the same Tool Library showing when creating a new Operation.

My Tool Library:

the Tool Library when creating an Operation:

The Roundover tool showing in the first pic above is not available in the 2nd pic.

Any ideas why the two are different and why I can’t select from the tools showing in the first pic?

  1. Did you try double-clicking the “Carving” folder?
  2. Did you load the correct tool library?

Hi Mike,

I double-clicked the category and it only allows to change the category name.

If you look at both pictures, I believe it shows the path to the tool library and the path in both pictures is the same. So yes, I believe it was the correct library.

Thanks

Tom Friedrich

Had to zoom to see it, but it is highly recommended you not use remote locations for Lightburn operational files. This includes OneDrive (especially), DropBox, a NAS box, and even thumb drives. You should use your local drive as the working drive and use remotes for backup storage and archiving.

I spent the weekend moving my files off of OneCloud and attaching them directly to the root drive, C:. So my next step is to try working again in MM and see if that makes any change. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good idea. Let us know if we got a pass or fail grade.

Coming back after the holidays, and yes. I reckon that OneDrive especially will be screwing with local file copies. It doesn’t have a full file copy, just a placeholder with enough info to make a preview if it was an image, but your tool library looks pretty big so it would be truncated.

I wouldn’t trust OneDrive to work with files locally. NextCloud has worked better for me, as long as I force it to make full copies of the local files, and not use Windows’ remote file handlers.

Thanks Mike.

I loaded the correct library. I also clicked the category name to show the selections. If there is NO arrow head to the left of the Category name, there is nothing entered into the Category.

It could be an intermediate copy that was created while you were starting to fill the library. No doubt you searched around for another copy of it.
