Total size of the material test?

Is there a way to see the total size of the material test? If not, I’d love to see that feature added.

I often have a scrap that I need to run a test on but I have to “guess” if it will fit. Say I’m making a 5x5 test grid and each test is 5mm. I know it will be at least 25mm wide (5x5mm) but there are also gaps between each box plus the text on the edges. It would be nice if LB would calculate the total size for me.

I don’t typically have my laser connected to my computer so I can’t use the frame feature that others likely use.

Interesting situation.

Here’s a potential workaround:

  1. Save the gcode for the material test
  2. Import the gcode into LightBurn

That will give you the exact size of the resulting burn. I would have thought this a bit combersome but seems easy compared to what you’re already having to do.

I will try the work around… but it would be SO much handier if we could see overall frame dimensions right in Lightburn material test set up.
