Totally new Laser, Lightburn and setting up my Creality Falco 2 Pro S

There are no category to explain my problem.
I am new to laser, lightburn s/w and everything related with my attempt to start a hobby.
I have setup my Creality Falcon 2 Pro S, calibrated the camera, etc.
When I try to do a test I get a message. ‘‘There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused.’’
Is there someone who can verify my settings, configuration, etc.
I did everything as per the lightburn videos and training material.
I am based in South Africa, Pretoria area. I am willing to pack the laser and laptop go to your place, or you to my place and tell me what I am doing wrong. It is days now and I am still battling.

Did you select the correct COM port? Be aware that this can change sometimes, you need to select the correct one.

I only have one port and that is COM3

If you disconnect the laser, is COM3 still available? I suspect your computer isn’t seeing the laser, and if the computer doesn’t see it, LightBurn won’t be able to.

Two main things I’d try:

  1. What USB cable are you using? The Falcon2 Pro uses a USB C port, but if you’re using a USB C to C cable, it likely can’t communicate. If you are, try switching to a USB A to C cable to connect, making sure that it’s one that can transmit data, not just power. If you don’t have USB A ports on your computer, you’ll need a USB hub or an A to C adapter. This is a hardware limitation, not a software issue. If I try using a USB C to C cable on my Falcon2 Pro, it won’t communicate at all with my computer.
  2. Did you install the CH340 driver to be able to connect to your laser? If you aren’t sure, the driver is linked from our docs. Installing it again won’t do any harm if you already have it, but if you don’t have it, your computer won’t be able communicate with the laser.

I don’t have the exact same model, Creality Falcon 2 Pro 60W
and I’m a tad far for an in person drop in (Pietermaritzburg/Howick area)
but if you want to compare settings/ do a teams or discord or something call I’m willing to try help.
assuming you’re on windows 10/11 anyway

Thank you everyone, I applied your advise. The Falcon is up and running. Now to play around and learn.
