"Trace" adds a frame to the image?

I’ve imported JPG, Gif, and PNG. None of the images have a frame on them but after using the “Trace” to convert them to vectors, it adds a frame to the image that I cannot get rid of…

I’m on the MAC Version

what’s going on? How do I eliminate or prevent the frame.
Thanks

Can you post an example and highlight what part you’re talking about?

Here is a Trace where I turned on the “Sketch” feature. The frame is not there until I “trace” -

If, however, I use the default settings, it does not appear to generate the frame.

Perhaps something going on with the “Sketch” setting in the Trace dialog…

It’s likely an artifact for the way that sketch handles the trace. Try changing the threshold value or just remove the border after it’s done. If you’re not aware, you’ll have to ungroup the object to select the individual shapes including the “frame”. Or just don’t use sketch.

Thanks. I’ll go that route…
