I imported a jpg drawing (fine felt tip pen) and after using trace tool all the lines were double and the laser followed all. How do I fix or prevent this
In LightBurn, you can go to Edit>Delete Duplicates
Lightburn cannot (yet) CenterTracing, therefore you get 2 lines.
You must either manually process the result or use another program that can center trace to trace your images with.
Why did trace create 2 lines when there was only 1 in the drawing
LightBurn identifies a line as a shape with 2 (4) sides, a lot has been written about this topic here in the forum, try searching. However, if you have a closed and filled shape, only the “outer” boundary is identified and the result is a single line.
The line in the drawing has two sides, inside and outside. In other words, two edges. When making manual tracings, I found a thicker line makes it easier to delete the unwanted ones in Lightburn.
Here is some explanation how to use Inkscape for such a case: LightBurn Tips and Tricks - Diode Laser Wiki
