Hi, is there a tool in Lightburn to track active editing time and laser time on a project? It would help greatly when billing for my work. It would give a realistic job labor cost. you could even make it a pro feature and charge a little more for that license. the timer could stop if the software was dormant for 5 minutes.
For editing time in the software: not that I’m aware of.
Often times, good software struggles when it tries to do too many things.
I think looking for some separate time tracking software would be your best bet, especially if you can find one that tracks time you spend using a software.
One I have used in the past is Clockify. You would need to have it open and press the Start button, and pick which project/ client to bill the time to.
As for time spent running the job, you can get the time estimates to be really accurate, and there might be ways to query how long a job ran, depending on the controller.
Thanks for the lead. However, if I billed for my design time at an hourly rate, anything above 25 cents/hour would get me no business.
This is tracked within the Ruida. It know how long it’s been awake and how much the laser should have lased.
Edit → Get controller info
Forgot to add that these values cannot be reset or modified. I changed out my tube, but there appears to be no way to reset this data on the Ruida…
If someone stumbles onto it, many of us would appreciate a post.
