Trick to stop laser fan noise when not lasering

I have wired my laser power to the air assist relay and have been operating it this way for many hours over the past 3 months. I was concerned about cooling as the laser fan stops immediately when the job is done .

There are no issues with cooling . Even after a 1 hour run at 100% the laser is cool to touch.
There is the occasional disconnect due to switching noise but it only happens when it is not important. Putting hv caps across the relay contacts and coil fixed it most of the time .
I have 10w /80w dual dual diode head .

If they have power, these more advanced heads are usually smart enough to cycle the fan appropriately.

So if it’s done with the job and cool enough, it may just turn it off.
