Trocen AWC7824 - Art work is mirrored using rotary function

Long time Ruida user with LightBurn, new to Trocen.

Lightburn has no trouble outputting rotary jobs for the Trocen controller, I enter the rotary settings through the controller panel and I can send to the machine and use the rotary. The only issue is that my artwork is sent mirrored on the Y axis. Yet the same art work engraved fine when I was engraving flat stock(not the rotary function).

Is there a switch I am not seeing to fix the output file?

For now, my work around is to mirror the artwork in Lightburn and send it to the controller that way. I was just wondering if there was a proper fix for this.

Thank you,
Oscar

I don’t know if it’s an option for Trocen, but in the Rotary dialog there is a mirror switch.

Hello Tim, Thanks for the reply.

I believe that isn’t supported in Trocen. I don’t have any Rotary options in Lightburn for that machine unfortunately. I tried some tests in LaserCad, the machines native software, and I noticed the same exact thing happening. Makes me think it is some machine setting or parameter I need to adjust for Rotary engraving only. I am still researching that option at the moment.

Try turning your rotary 180 degrees on the bed. In other words, if the top is on the right, turn it so the top is on the left. You will need to rotate your artwork also.

I rotated my chuck rotary and it solved the mirroring issue, LOL
the tech was here for 3 days and he didn’t know that detail either.

I also updated the Current Diameter in the controller to match my cup, that fixed my aspect ratio.
Now just to fine tune Speed and Power settings!

The only other issue I am having is the Scanning offset adjustments set for flat stock work are not working for the rotary function. It is only an issue if I use Bi-directional fill. So for now I will engrave Uni-directional for rotary jobs.

I hope this helps someone in the same boat.
